Alison Ettel, dubbed #PermitPatty after a video of her calling police on an 8-year-old girl selling water went viral, is paying for that choice. Her Treatwell Health, which specializes in cannabis edibles for pets, is losing business.

Many are calling for a boycott of the Bay Area business and one business has actually broken ties. Magnolia Wellness, a dispensary in Oakland that carried Treatwell Tinctures, announced that it would no longer be associated with Ettel and her brand.

“As of today, Magnolia will no longer be carrying Treatwell Tinctures,” a post from Magnolia Wellness. “After seeing this video of their CEO, calling the police on an 8 year old entrepreneur selling water on a hot day, we decided without hesitation that we could no longer patronize her company.”

The video of Ettel crouching behind a wall to call the police on little Jordan Austin has been viewed by millions, who have taken to social media to let Ettel know that her actions were not appreciated.

Erin Austin, the child’s mother, told USA Today that she had recently lost her job and her daughter was trying to raise money to go on a trip to Disney. A Good Samaritan has donated a trip for four to the Austin family.

Ettel, in an interview with Huffington Post, said she called the police because of the noise, not because of race. Calling the police had no “racial component” to it, she said. She also said she didn’t actually call the police, she was pretending.
