In the world of winemaking, where every bottle tells a story, the McBride Sisters Wine Company has carved out a unique niche. Founded by sisters Robin McBride and Andréa McBride John, their story is one of defiance against tradition, a celebration of culture and a dedication to growth and inclusivity.

With their new Legacy Collection, the McBride Sisters invite wine enthusiasts to raise a glass to the past, present and future.

Released in March 2024, the new collection celebrates the McBride Sisters’ unique story. Born on opposite sides of the world, McBride and John were brought together by their shared passion for wine.

Today, they stand as disruptors in the industry, challenging conventions and redefining what it means to be successful in the wine business.

“While all of the wines we make have a personal connection to our story as sisters and winemakers, this portfolio is the most personal to date,” says McBride. “It is a representation of what we believe our legacy to be.”

Legacy Collection Balances Tradition and Innovation

The debut wines in the Legacy Collection are crafted from Rhône grape varieties grown in the Edna Valley near the Pacific Ocean in San Luis Obispo.

These wines are known for their light-to-medium body, intense aromas, well-rounded flavors, earthy depth and lively acidity.

Edna Valley’s extended growing season, the longest in California, allows the grapes to reach optimal ripeness while retaining a remarkable freshness. The Legacy Collection includes three wines, each with its own unique flavor profile:

    • 2019 Syrah: A velvety pour with savory, peppery aromas atop dark black cherries and purple blackberries, with hints of bacon fat and lavender-led florals.
    • 2019 GSM: A structured blend of grenache, syrah, and mourvedre, with aromas of rainier cherry, ripe raspberry, and juicy pomegranate, complemented by white pepper spice and lush fruit flavors.
    • 2020 Grenache: Brightly aromatic with concentrated red cherry and notes of rose petals, sweet sage, and pepper, lifted by acidity and ripe red fruit flavors.

Each bottle is adorned with symbols that individually represent the sister duo, such as their astrological signs, the African Adinkra Odo Nyera Fie Kwan Symbol, the Māori Symbol, the Ensō Circle and more. For those seeking the ultimate wine experience, the McBride Sisters Collection Legacy Gift Set offers a bottle of each new wine, packaged in a wooden memento gift box.

From great and amazing wine to travel with a purpose, Cuisine Noir Magazine delivers what readers are looking for which is more than where to find the next great meal. And most importantly, it is a culinary publication that complements readers’ lifestyles and desire for a diverse epicurean experience. As the country's first digital magazine that connects the African diaspora through food, drink and travel, Cuisine Noir's history of highlighting the accomplishments of Black chefs dates back to 1998 with its founder Richard Pannell. It later made its debut online in October of 2007 and again in September 2009 with a new look under the ownership of V. Sheree Williams. Over the last ten years, Cuisine Noir has gained global recognition for pioneering life and industry-changing conversations that have been nonexistent in mainstream food media outlets for more than 40 years. In 2016, it received one of its biggest honors by being included in the Smithsonian Channel video on the fourth floor of the National Museum of African American History and Culture Museum (NMAAHC) about the contributions of African Americans to American cuisine.
