5. He is mixed-race
Last year, Porter told ESPN’s the Undefeated he believes some have labeled him “soft” because he has light skin; and because his father is black and his mother is white. Porter hopes to shed that label once he gets on the court. He also wants to use his platform to address race relations in America. “I have a lot of white friends and a lot of black friends,” Porter told The Undefeated. “Like Steph Curry and Drake, both races can relate to them. If I could be one of those people, that would be real cool.”
